Pixie Dust by Laura Lee
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
While I can see why a lot of people like this series, after all it is quite captivating and almost impossible to put down, I can also see a lot to complain about.
(Sorry!)
The characters are incredibly immature for their ages. They also yell, curse and shriek a lot. It's truly distracting and makes it all a little less enjoyable. The writing isn't much better. While the plot is truly addictive, there are a number of technical issues that really annoyed me throughout the whole book, like the exaggerated use of exclamation points in critical situations and the grammar mistakes. Karli's inability to protect herself or, at least, act cautiously is also another big no-no for me. I truly wonder how she managed to conceal her identity for so long when she didn't even last 24h with Vance. And her whining attitude is not giving her any points either. Overall, it's not a big deal but it's surprisingly additive and captivating.
