I liked Elise but that was probably just it. I hated James. Lincoln was ultimately an *sshole and everyone else just appeared either stupid or irrelevant. Basically, apart from Elise, I didn't like anything and I don't think even Elise will make me want to read more of this. All so frustratingly one-dimensional. All so boring and flat. And there was blood and guts everywhere so it definitely shouldn't have felt boring of all things.

I shouldn't have liked this. I mean, I liked the previous but I seriously thought it was just a fluke. These books are pure Chick Lit and I seriously abhor those kind of books. They specially annoy me to no end when coupled with romance so I thought "No way. This is gonna put you off reading for more than a week probably. Go around it." but I couldn't, no matter how hard I tried to rationalize it because I was really curious, damn it. It's mythology. I just can't pass a good mythology book and this was good for sure. Not to everyone's taste because it is still Chick Lit but oh so funny, romantic and hopeful. I really did like all the happy vibe going around. And I so loved Mordred Le Fey although I expected more, more mayhem perhaps. More trouble. Just more of everything. Such fun. I wasn't very keen on either Gwen or Vivienne. Aphrodite wasn't all that either. Kind of a let down. The rest? I'll take them any other time of the week. Guilty pleasures. We all have them.

Okay but not great. So hopeful, sweet and perfect that it actually turns ridiculous and exasperating at the end. Definitely tries too hard. But, I attempted to take it all lightly and casually and it turned out not to be so bad once I got into it. Kind of reaching with the court thing tho.

Why do you do this to me again? You like watching me suffer, yes? It must be. I am seriously thinking of buying a paperback edition of the last book just so I can slug it towards your head. Really. I'm thinking about it.

Okay...so. I like it a lot but I did notice how long it was and overwhelming compared to the first book which is weird because the first dumped a lot of info in our heads. A lot of action in this as well. And I did get pissed about all the waiting around. It was frustrating and kinda boring too. They are all also incredibly violent. Doesn't age provide wisdom? Life is precious and all that? I mean, the one directed at humans is understandable if distasteful but between themselves? I can't really accept it I guess. Perhaps I expected more. I do like the main story tho and hope God gets his ass kicked. Damn cliffhanger.

I'm not sure if I should rail against you or applaud. I mean it. The cliffhanger is f*cking smart. I admit it. But I hate it with a passion. I cannot believe you left this book in the middle of a fight scene with the good guys dying. I hate you right now. I really do. I did not deserve this and you are cruel. I'm torn between bashing your head against a wall or hug you for your brilliance and savvy.

You know...I could go on and on but I'm gonna buy the next book instead. Not that you deserve it but I'm dying to read more.

Review: Zero at the Bone

Three f*cking a.m. That's when I finally finished this book. It was...long. Sometimes dreary, sometimes full of action and fun and sometimes just plain boring. I'm not sorry I read it but I'm not entirely happy about it either. I think it ended up being over-analyzed, over-dramatic and over-thought. Such a large dose of everything that I just couldn't help feeling overrun and crushed. For instance, I liked D and Jack just fine. They were very interestingly complex characters but, after a while I just couldn't help praying for it all to end. I pretty much didn't even care how it ended anymore. I was just tired.

Review: 72 Hours

Ah...I wouldn't call it incredibly good. The flashbacks kind of grated on my patience at the beginning and I even ended up skipping some of them just to get to the action. In fact, it was what I liked most even if it wasn't all I expected either. While I appreciated all the mystery and suspense for sure, I was also quite disappointed by all the talk of professionalism and never really seeing it. They all seemed to talk a good game but never show anything much for it. Quite vulnerable and actually negligent as far as I'm concerned. Very lax and incompetent too for such a high-standing agency(Or so they all said. All the time). Now for the romance. Lots of telling and not showing involved. Quite a disappointment as well. I didn't really see why they liked each other to tell the truth. More than a year together and neither of them had any idea what the other felt, liked or wanted and instead of resolving said issues they barely talk about them and just resumed fucking. Not impressed.

It's not bad but I just can't get my mind wrapped around the fact I had to read almost 400 pages for that crap of an ending. Honestly? I liked Austin's wittiness and nothing else. The sex was boring. I didn't particularly like any of the MC's and I only went through everything 'cause I seriously thought the end would make it worthwhile. It didn't. I think I might want my reading hours back.

I...There are so many wrong things with this book. Romantically I can see their point and slightly appreciate them but, they are all so jarring I couldn't help but notice and mention them. The sex scenes are really something for sure. I'm a woman and can't exactly pinpoint where the ridiculousness comes from but it's definitely there. Glaring at me. Waiting for me to acknowledge it. I mean, really? Cumming just for looking at each other and saying "I love you"'s? Enough is enough. I did like the ending with the tattoo wing and it's the reason why I give this a three star rating at all. It was incredibly insightful and romantic if a touch cheesy too. Otherwise a two star for all the sheer foolishness present.

Not exactly perfect and with some inaccuracies, over-dramatics and other issues but didn't piss me off as most have lately so I'm happy and giving it a nice three star rating. I particularly liked Kurt and his family. Davy...not so much. And all the crying even less. The absurdity of their first time and consequent fight almost made me ditch this book right out but, alas, Kurt's family managed to keep me engaged. Not sure if I like the pretty ending tho. Too neat and perfect.

Review: The Shadow Reader

I'm not entirely sure about my opinion of this book but I do know the entire revolution was a mess. I do know McKenzie was extremely careless during her ten years of service to the Court Fae. She let her love for Kyol blind her to the real issues and the real horrors of war. She never cared to know. Well..that or she was extremely dumb and easy to manipulate. Probably both actually and I can't say I'm much sorry for her situation because it was of her making. Worse. She pretty much not only allowed a bunch of people to die but actually helped kill them with her actions. Add this idiotic situation to a love triangle and I'm not sure who I'm more pissed at, Kyol and Aren for loving her since she's just too stupid to live or McKenzie for actually paying attention to two men in the middle of a bloody war when most of her time was spent being kidnapped or on the run.
That being said, I like both of them but trust neither. They both omit things whenever they feel like it and it's going to get her killed, if her ineptitude doesn't first. Oh and her need to be rescued every five minutes is disgusting.

Review: The Grimrose Path

Not as good as the first one for me. It's probably better written and definitely more comprehensive, yes, but while the first gave me the thrill of the unknown regarding Trix and her methods, this one did not. I could see where she was going from the very beginning and wasn't surprised at all when the events developed. It was still a good read don't get me wrong! The writing style is very good and funny, the plot was creative and Trix was a bad-ass from start to finish. But...like I said before, predictable and not as fulfilling as the first book. Much less that ending. It was...kind of a let down actually. I did fall in love a little more with Leo/Loki. He was a little more Loki than Leo and that was just better if not perfect. I gotta say I still liked Eli better though and I was a little disappointed by his unavailability throughout most of the book. I missed his smart-ass attitude the most. Oh well. At least he survived. Gotta get my kicks somewhere.

Incredibly well done. So very well written I had no idea what Trix was until the very last moment. To think I hadn't actually disliked Solomon or, should I say instead, what he pretended to be? I mean I had doubts (who wouldn't?) but I only glimpsed certain things...not enough to really know. Then again, I kinda like Eli too. How bad is that? Be serious. Pretty bad, right? Damn. I'm a sucker for a bad boy. Surprisingly I don't much care for Leo. I say surprisingly because I've liked Loki from the first time I've read about him. But Leo does nothing for me. Good friend but as a romantic interest? Kind of lacks a certain spark and tension. Appeal. Griffin and Zeke? Out of the blue too. What they are I mean 'cause the relationship thing could be seen for miles. Bottom line? I liked Trix. I liked her world and I liked her friends.

There's probably some wrong things in this book. Some people will definitely find them and state them so, no worries, you'll learn it somewhere. Probably not here though because I liked this very much. Not perfect. I didn't like Demeter for one. Wasn't impressed with Persephone either. Nyx's romantic relationship was...like trying to watch Speedy Gonzalez on crack. I can even say this was a little like reading a super cheesy episode of, well, Desperate Housewives. Some content but nothing to be amazed by. Incredibly entertaining tho. Funny. Ridiculous. Predictable. And romantic. Damn. I liked it.
