Review: Original Sin

Original Sin
Original Sin by Lisa Desrochers

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I wrote a huge review of this book and my computer crashed right before I saved it so...here's my summarized version:

I'm a true believer of Johnny Depp's quote: "If you love two people at the same time, choose the second one. Because if you truly loved the first one, you wouldn’t love another." So this Luc vs Gabe thing truly annoys me! And what is wrong with Matt? Is he for real? (notice how I'm using the term real very loosely) Matt gives me a headache. I imagined myself slapping the crap outta him half of the time...Liar...Ok ALL THE TIME! Frannie is so whiny in her POV. Thank god she doesn't say most of that out loud. Gabe is so cute but so boring at the same time and Luc is so messed up it isn't even funny.

My first review was a lot more nice but having to write this review again makes me cranky! I was dragging myself though the last chapters. Hoping it would end soon. I loved "Personal Demons". Just couldn't get in the right spirit with this one! Always changing points of view when only Luc was interesting...and even Luc was getting me stressed! I'm not starting the last one so soon. I'm so frustated with this one that I may just hate "Last Rite" outta principle.

I'm giving it a 3 star rating 'cause I think my bad opinion is partly my fault. I'll re-write this review if I somehow change my mind.

Review: Personal Demons

Personal Demons
Personal Demons by Lisa Desrochers

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So...I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Reminds me of the Demon Kissed Series by H M Ward. Which I absolutely loved!!
Can't say the same about this one yet. Still early but it seems to be on the right path.

Review: Endure

Endure
Endure by Carrie Jones

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The perfect ending to this series. I was rooting sooooo much for Astley!! He was always so sweet to her, so loving all the time. I became a little worried about all the talk of sacrifice and jumping inside Hell's mouth. I actually thought the author was going to kill Zara. I hate it when authors kill the main character at the end of a series. Even when I "understand" the why I still feel cheated. I think that's an awful way to end something that took so much time of our lives as readers. So I'm very happy with this ending. 5 stars indeed. Congratulations to Carrie Jones!

Review: Devil's Bargain

Devil's Bargain
Devil's Bargain by Rachel Caine

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My real rating is probably 3,5 stars. I liked the book well enough. Rachel has a very unique way of writing...that I love by the way! And maybe that's also why it doesn't exactly achieve a 4 star rating in my opinion...I've grown into a certain level in Rachel's books and, despite being a very good book, I was also a little disappointed with the lack of supernatural events I guess. I mean..when I pick up a Rachel Caine book I expect not only good writing and good heroines but also a lot of weird stuff..in the form of vampires, ghosts, werewolves...the usual. And this book doesn't have that unless you count a psychic which I don't.
But for those who like detective novels with kick-ass stubborn heroines then this is exactly your kind of book! Read it! It's worth your time!!
