More Trent! More Trent! Yeah! My favorite book of the series so far just for that!

Like I said in my review of the previous book, I really don't like seeing Rachel helpless and boy was she helpless this book. I think when Trent gave her that damn bracelet he didn't expect her to keep it for so long. She likes to think she's a badass who doesn't need help and that bracelet made her realize that not only does she need help but she can't keep trying to be a witch when she's actually a demon. It's becoming dangerous for her and her friends and that bracelet made her realize this. I hope she stops being so damn afraid of herself. And I also hope she stops making stupid rookie mistakes. She's a demon and everyone knows it. All her actions are going to be watched and analized to exaustion. It's time for her to wake up!

It's also time for her to realize she can trust Trent! After all they've been through...she likes him and I think he likes her too! And how cool is that? He's demonstrating he's trustworthy and a good backup when needed. He's also a good planer which Rachel is not!


And Al. We didn't see him much this book...just when he found out Rachel was alive. But I think we can see him liking her too. He's still Al...always trying to cheat people and working deals for himself but he doesn't seem to do that to Rachel anymore. He seems to worry about her a lot more. He seems to want her in the ever-after for her own protection now instead of wanting her there to gain money and respect from other demons.

I really want to see more Al and more Trent in the next book. Too bad it's only being released in 2013! I'm anxious to read it!

Review: Pale Demon

Wow. Getting to know Trent is awesome. He pissed me off as much as he pissed Rachel but now I like him! Amazing! And Al? Who would think he actually had a heart sometimes? I'm liking him too...and that's definitely a surprise!

I didn't like seeing Rachel helpless. I think she needs to really up her game. Her world is changing and I'm not sure it's in a good way either. I'm glad that she's starting to accept herself as a demon. She needs to start thinking about doing more curses. She may not like them but they keep her alive and that's more important than anything else. It's good to see a demon with principles and morals...don't get me wrong. But sometimes I really want to smash her head against a wall. If someone is trying to kill her, she should defend herself and not get beaten up and almost killed for being too afraid of hurting the other person! Seriously? You'll live longer if you stand up and say it's enough and fight back. I'm not happy with that part of her personality! It's really stupid thinking on her part.

On overall I loved this book. It has a lot of Trent in it! A lot of action and emotions. New dramas to deal with... I'm anxious to read the next one and the next one and so on....

Review: The Outlaw Demon Wails

Better than the last one. Nobody died. At least I don't think so...which means that if someone died, it wasn't an important character. I was kinda afraid for Quen. I really like him. I don't think Rachel would be able to deal with his death after Kisten's. She seems to really respect him and love him.

And speaking of elves..let's talk about Trent. That guy is really pissing me off. He does whatever he wants without caring for consequences and then judges Rachel for things that she doesn't even do. He gets himself caught in the ever-after, she gets back to rescue him, at a very high cost, and he tries to kill her as soon as they get out. So okay. He found out she was kin to demons and therefore a "danger" to all mankind or whatever but really? After saving his ass, after showing time and time again that she's trustworthy, after sacrificing herself to protect people she doesn't even know...he tries to kill her. AGAIN. Aparently being in the ever-after as a slave in a cage didn't taught him much. Someone should REALLY kick his ass for real!

Anyway...

Jenks appearing all of a sudden in the ever-after? I totally expected that. He loves her. He sure as hell wasn't going to let her go to a dangerous place with only Trent as back-up. C'mon! But him suddenly disappearing when the sun came up? That sure scared me a lot! I thought something really bad had happened to him. Thankfully it hadn't.

I also got scared with the "Rescue Trent" mission. It was well planned. For a change. Rachel rarely plans things but this one was actually good thinking on her part. It would never cross my mind. And it worked really well. So she has to spend 24h a week in the ever-after with Al as a teacher. Could be worse. A lot worse. And she was upgraded from "familiar/pet" to student and protégé. Not bad considering all the stuff that could go wrong.

Review: A Fistful of Charms

OK. So...I like Ivy. Really. I do. But the whole Ivy loves Rachel story? It creeps me out! Seriously. And the fact that Rachel is starting to love her back makes me wanna shout and kick her real hard! I like Kisten. I can understand why Rachel doesn't want to make a blood bond with him or Ivy for that matter. The idea of being bonded with someone for life without a chance to reverse it? Hell no!
Keep those fangs away from me too!! In a way, Ivy is the more safe choice in that case. Not only does she truly loves Rachel, she's also her best friend unfortunately she's also the most out of control vamp I've ever read about. Oh and Rachel is straight. That too.
Kisten seems to love Rachel. He says he does but he's also Piscarys former scion. I can't help thinking he would go back if he could nailing Rachel's ass on the way over.
Hell I think Rachel would be safer dating Trent and the guy is a drug leader! Anyway that vamp scar of hers is really disturbing me. It makes every vamp want to snack her. It's really unfair. I wish she could get rid of it. Unfortunately that doesn't seem possible. It seems she has 2 options: choose a vamp to bite her and bond her therefore loosing her appeal to other vamps OR get powerful enough to defend herself against the vamps who may try taking her. Including master vamps outside Cincinnati.

Loved it very much despite being pissed at Rachel sometimes...Great follow up on "Dead Witch Walking". Laughed my ass off at all the scenes with Trent. He truly pisses her off so much! Amazing. And he does the bad guy perfectly!
