I'm not one for emotionally charged romances but this novel was everything I expected. And more importantly, it didn't feel forced in any way. Seemed normal, passionate and true. The main character appeared to be like any other woman with a broken heart and a hard time trusting men again. Luca was amazing and honestly? I want a Luca for myself too! The sooner the better! I loved the ending and I admit I was cheering every step of the way. Simply perfect!

Even better than the first. Now I'm gonna buy the 3rd so I can finally get to the end! This was so amazing I can barely wait...It has a more dramatic feel to it than the first due to the main characters confusing feelings but also a more fun and interesting side. Loved it. I only feel sorry for being such a fast-reading book. I hoped it lasted a little more time but I guess I'll just have to re-read it again.

I downloaded this book for free on Amazon and I can't say I regret it. I had a small window of opportunity at work and read it immediately. It's funny, dramatic, easy to read and interesting! I absolutely loved spending a couple hours on this story. Its fast-paced rhythm suited me just perfectly! I can't wait to read the next one!

Review: The Goddess Inheritance

I liked it a lot but I still can´t believe some stuff Kate did. I am completely baffled by some of her choices. I cannot stress enough how idiotic she was during this book. If not for the rest of this story...I would've flung this book across the room. Wait..No. It's an ebook...So I guess my laptop? Nope...way to precious now that my e-reader died on me. But you get my point. God, she was frustrating! Hell, everyone was!

I was satisfied though when she went to see Cronus at the end. I know he is awful and tried to literally kill everyone on earth but he did seem to have a somewhat soft spot for Kate (can't imagine why actually) and it kinda broke my heart a little to know he was spending eternity alone. Not that I pity him exactly...more like I understand his bid for companionship with Kate.

Ava's death was surprising...I kinda imagined Diana or James. But it is fitting considering all he did throughout the year. She felt miserable about betraying Kate and she made the ultimate sacrifice to redeem herself. I'm sad I don't get to learn more about Eros. I kinda expected him to be like Ava and I was sorry to not have the chance to find out.

All in all it ends like it was supposed to...Happy ever after.

The basic point was that I enjoyed it very much and am anxious to get my hands on the next instalment!

Review: The Goddess Test

Well. That was weirder than I thought it would be but also nice. I got a little confused at the end but I enjoyed the new approach to the Greek mythology. I like Henry but I gotta say I like James too. Dylan is kinda creepy but I guess that's normal for Ares. I still don't get why he stared at Kate for so long at the beginning of the book. Calliope freaks me out too. Specially after knowing she's Hera and she loves Henry, who is Hades. And Philip is Poseidon? I don't really see it. Sorry. I'm guessing all my doubts wouldn't confuse me so much if I just let my pre-conceived ideas for awhile and concentrate on the new look the author is trying to give mythology. But it's kinda hard to do so when so many of our myths come from certain sure ideas. Like I said previously, it was an enjoyable and fun read and that's what matters most. I'll try to ignore my conceptions of Hades, Zeus and all the other gods. It's worth it.

Oh wow. I have to admit I cried. A lot really. I actually want to just give a 1 star rating to this book because Sam died. It was so heartbreaking I cannot find the right words to describe it. I'm not surprised because soon as Sam explained he had the power to stop time but was forbidden to use it without unravelling...I knew he was gonna end up doing it anyway and there would be no way to save him. I knew since half the book and yet it still ripped my heart out when I read it.

I think I loved him a little. It is ridiculous to love a character of a book. He was not real. Never was. But I read about him. I spent time with him. I lived a part of his life even if his life was fictitious. And I watched and felt his death coming. I am so very sorry for him.

I have cried other times when I read about certain characters deaths. Kisten's for example, in the Hollows by Kim Harrison. But I never felt it so present as I did in this one. I hate the author a little bit right now. Sam was a masterfully built character and I hurt to see him gone. And I pity Niki so very much. She lost so many people.

I look forward for June with a mixing of hope and foreboding. Hope that somehow Niki will be able to reach happiness and foreboding to read she won't ever achieve it with Sam gone.

I think the main point I have against this book is the size. It's too damn small! I find myself wishing it was bigger so I could enjoy this story for longer...It is amazing. I am completely in love with it!

Niki has so many layers to unravel that it's absolutely delicious and Sam is so strong but tries so hard not to overwhelm her...I think he is the best angel I have read about so far.
I'm so anxious to find more and more about Niki, Sam, Gage, Sasha and everyone else!

Interesting premise. Fast-paced. Likeable characters. Mysterious. What more could you want?

The female lead is very interesting. With a complex exposure of good versus evil since childhood, Niki has become a strong willed woman with a compassionate heart despite her fathers background as a Mafia kingpin.

Things get tough though when she slips and she is discovered as an abnormal. A human with abilities. In her case, a human who can see ghosts among other not so friendly characters. She's put in the registry, a list of abnormals society intends to destroy.

Meet Sam. A mysterious guy in a mysterious bar. The Deep Blue Sea. Offers her a job for a large sum hunting demons. Considering she's out of money and in the registry...probably her only chance of paying the hospital bills her dying gandma is leaving. The offer to get off the registry is just the cherry at the top. How can one refuse?

Soon enough she learns things are about to get hairy.

Review: Caradoc of the North Wind

I read this in one sitting and could not put it down. I lack some sleep but I do not regret it!

On a side note: I don't exactly hate open endings because, let's be truthful, it's better to have an open ending than a bad one but I still resent them. I understand their purpose and allure to an author due to flexibility but...I continue to rebel. As a reader I find it somewhat frustrating. It almost feels unfinished which, come to think of it, it's maybe the idea all along. It definitely allows the author to return a couple years later and present the readers with more adventures.

Despite all my misgivings about this ending...I was absolutely surprised with this book. It is better than the other ones and such a fast-paced, exhilarating and heart-pounding adventure! I truly loved it. My heart broke a little when it seemed Branwen was leaving without Iwan but fortunately he didn't let himself get tricked and went after her. I was kinda hoping for a kiss but oh well. It's so sad for Branwen however, never to have been able to return to her home and see her mother. I actually hoped to see Lady Alis appear out of thin air but, alas, it was not meant to be.

I find myself hoping vehemently for another book. Or a whole new series with Branwen, her friends and the mysterious Chosen of The Shining Ones. That works too!

Review: Prophecy

So..Korean Mythology. That's a first for me. My knowledge of it is totally non-existent and I gotta admit I left the book a couple times to search Google and find out what the characters were talking about. That's kind of a let down and a huge part of why I only give a 3 star rating because it made me loose some focus on the story.

Another thing that bummed me were the characters and the lack of follow-up in some situations. Not that I particularly love extensive descriptions of how a journey took 2/3 weeks to complete but I also didn't overly enjoyed to have those weeks told in 2 sentences without development of any kind of how the characters were faring against the weather, the forced proximity they had to endure, the lack of sleep and so on. The narrator (main character Kira) simply says it was tiresome and uneventful. Well, thank you. That was very helpful. How about relating some interactions between characters? No? Okay.

I love a strong heroine as most people do but did the author really had to portray everyone else as mindless princesses needing constant rescue? It's really bothersome. Apart from a couple characters like her father who sacrifices himself to save the prince and the queen who later on does exactly the same (deja-vu anyone?) where is everyone else? The oh so valuable prince is either hidden beneath his mothers skirt or Kira's (not that she actually owns them but you get my drift). I know the boy is twelve but isn't he supposed to have been trained since birth? C'amon! Kira was seven when she fist killed a demon!
The only characters who actually showed promise were killed immediately!
Jaewon, Kira's love interest, shows some promise as well but the author completely decided to ignore it. The only interactions with Kira were to say he would do everything for her. Hmm...not to be a spoils sport but why? The boy doesn't even know her! I mean, they spend quite some time together but we never actually see them having much of a conversation so..again I ask. Why?

The writing was also kind of lacking. Kira's point of view was vague and bordered on boring some times. It's straight-forward with no surprises. There's literally nothing to discover about her. The author tells the reader what kind of person she is up front. No discovering for ourselves. I mean... I like to form my opinions based on character behaviour! Maybe I'm old-fashioned.

Review: Soulless

Soulless by Gail Carriger

I gotta say from the start the only reason I don't give a 4 star rating is because this book is heavy on history and I'm not much a fan of it. Despite that, I look forward for the next one due to the main couple. Alexia because of all the things she has against her still manages to succeed and blow away everyone's minds. Her family is particularly bothersome. Conall is so stubborn but loves her so much that is way too endearing not to love. The prenatural phenomenon is new to me and I'm intrigued to find out more. All in all it's a great book worthy of one's time.

Review: Always the Vampire

Always the Vampire by Nancy Haddock

Not my favourite vampire trilogy but good enough. The plot is funny yet dramatic. There were some moments when some of the plot was a little ridiculous but I braved through it and was it paid off. The characters are all believable and interesting. In most books, there are annoying love triangles and I expected to see some of it when Triton showed up but was very happy that it didn't. They were all adults about the situation although I'm convinced it was mainly because Triton found Lynn quickly to occupy his mind.

The author preferred to keep Saber human and I can't say I didn't like it better than having him as a vampire. He has the longevity and Cesca can always turn him later. The marriage request at the end was a good surprise. I hoped she would accept her position on the council though. I know it's not part of who she is but she changed a lot during this book and it would be a chance to keep things among the vampire community more peaceful in the long run. I'll just pretend she'll accept it when she returns from the honeymoon.


In retrospect, it was a light read despite some rough parts in the story and easy enough to follow.

Review: The Rhyn Trilogy

I still can't exactly understand how a woman can fall in love with a man who calls her blood monkey and treats her like a slave for the entire fist book but overall I did like this trilogy. I'm sorry it's still a long wait to read the rest of this story though. I bought this trilogy precisely because it was a finished series and turns out there's more under a different name. I hate it when this happens...but I'll wait and read it because it was dramatic, funny, interesting and action-packed and I can only assume the next books will be as well.

The main couple was frustrating beyond measure but oh so very sweet! I'm glad it turned out well for them! I hope Gabe's luck changes soon and Darkyn gets offed violently and slowly like he should've been in the end of this trilogy. I also hope Hannah, Katie's sister, wakes the hell up and notices that the world is falling apart and she needs to back her sister up! I'm so anxious to find out more about Rhyn and Katie as a couple and Hazel's arriving! So exciting!
