It was kind of hilarious finding out Reyes was in her basement...So damn obvious and yet it never crossed my mind either. Boy was he pissed she found him and bound him...can't say I disagree with him. I think it was probably the worse thing she could have done to him even though I understand her point of view. Anyway I absolutely love the feel of this series. It's well written, funny and so mysterious. I like Charley more and more. Cookie is the best friend ever and Reyes is a hell of a romantic interest. Emphasis on the hell part! Garret also seems like a nice guy in a not so nice way...Uncle Bob is awesome. I was kind of disappointed by her father but hey they seemed to have it worked out. Even Gemma and Denise seemed OK this book...Can't wait for the next.

Oh and Charlie's case about Hanna was also very interesting. I'm glad the bad guy wasn't so obvious. I would've never suspected a congressman's mom. Glad all ended well there. Too bad it took 20 years. I can't even begin to imagine the pain of Hanna's parents.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, there was action, drama and romance but most importantly vampires, witches and other supernaturals. The writing was fantastic and I loved how easy it was to follow the plot. I also loved the characters, not only the main couple but all the amazing circle all around them. They were funny, dangerous and sexy. They all had their demons but fought so damn hard to be better...I loved the simplicity of how every piece fell in place. It sure seemed effortless even in their inner struggles.

Such a hot book. Wow. It was truly amazing, sexy, sensual and really just plain hot. The three men are so lovingly different but so good together as well. And Tessa really seemed just like the perfect addiction to their lives. Kind of ends on a sad note and it's the only reason why I don't give it a five star rating.

Review: Under the Skin

Have I mentioned recently how much I love reading about cop/criminal romances? How fascinated I am with the Mafia? Specially the Russian ones like the Bratva and the one in this book, Vory v Zakore? Well I truly am fascinated by them. Most books gain my interest automatically just by mentioning them. The tattoos are the most awe inspiring part though.

Apart from my fangirling over the Mafia...the main plot was complex yet enjoyable and even sweet. The writing was good and I flew through this book without a hitch. The main characters were adorable, which I have to admit is quite some miracle to do to a Vory even if he ended up being a Interpol mole. Their relationship was inspiring in so many ways...I just can't help myself for loving the HEA ending. I think they deserved it and it's bad enough things don't work out as well in real life to ruin it in a book.

Review: The Godfather's Lover

The Godfather's Lover by Ann T. Ryan

Well it's not a masterpiece but I think it delivered. It was enjoyable and, despite some violence within, it was a very light read. I like the cop/criminal romance stories. The moral conflict is always interesting to observe and this was no exception although it is a short story and not much exploited. I am a little disappointed though for it not being a full book because the plot is good enough.

I'm sorry but I just couldn't finish it. The plot is so interesting but the execution is so boring for me. I don't care to read two and a half pages about the street one of the characters is at. I really don't. I did gave it a real try though...I managed half the book. Unfortunately I skipped whole pages and it still wasn't enough to keep me from almost tear my hair out from frustration. It is truly a shame. I enjoyed the plot immensely and really loved the main characters.

Not much like the other books from this author but I had lots of fun reading it. From a gay man who wants to pretend to be straight, to his fiancée's family and his gay ex-boyfriend's ghost...you just can't help sudden bouts of laughter from erupting! It was funny, witty and just remarkable in every way. My only reason for not giving it a four star rating is really just because of all the turns we get from the main plot. It was complex and confusing and it kind of detracted the book for me.

The murder investigation part of the book was enormously more interesting than in the first book. It was more complex, less obvious and more fulfilling. The romance part was, mostly, just nerve-wrecking and not much in itself. There was some advances but nothing too worthy to mention or be happy about. Mostly I'm just kind of disappointed. I think I'm not exactly used to reading about men not really gay. Or gay men not really sure if they're bottoms or tops. Or if they even like having sex with other men. I am mostly confused to be honest. It also seems pretty weird I guess. They seem to love each other but sex between them is more like a chore then real pleasure.

Overall the book was OK. Not really much up my alley but interesting enough for me to keep reading it...but the end was a big disappointment. I spent half the book expecting for some kind of splash that never happened and it was a real pity. The romance wasn't all that great either. I think I was mostly just curious about what was going to happen than actually interested in their relationship. No real police work present either despite both being cops. Or at least one of them.
