Review: Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch

Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch
Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Terry Pratchett

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I tried. I really did. But I simply couldn't find the will to finish this book. I went maybe halfway? Not sure exactly...but I didn't connect with any of the characters, the premise was interesting but the execution bored me to tears and I couldn't care less how it ends.

Two stars because I have read worse. Not a great endorsement but the best I can do.

Review: Have a Hot Time, Hades!

Have a Hot Time, Hades!
Have a Hot Time, Hades! by Kate McMullan

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

That was a fast but entertaining read. Wonderfully written and I loved Hades's perspective of the Greek myths. Although I gotta say since he's my favorite Greek god that's not very difficult.

Review: Sunburn

Sunburn
Sunburn by Rosanna Leo

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Still just basically erotica with a side of Greek gods but overall better than any of the previous novels. This story seemed to be a little more complete and a lot more interesting with the demon aspect. I also liked Hades. Weird, right? Considering he was the Big-Bad-Guy here even if he didn't show up much...but I was intrigued by him. I think he'd make a great MC. Anyway...I liked Apollo and Patience. They were annoying sometimes but also entertaining. I had fun.

Review: For the Love of a God

For the Love of a God
For the Love of a God by Rosanna Leo

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Somewhat entertaining. It's unlikely I'll ever read this again and it's not something I'll recommend to anyone either. Even my love for Greek gods couldn't stop me from feeling slightly cheated though. The blurb certainly didn't prepare me for the amount of cheesy lines and overall ridiculousness.

Review: Death's Rival

Death's Rival
Death's Rival by Faith Hunter

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I am seriously considering putting Jane in the "F*cking-Nitwit-Of-A-Main-Character" shelf and be done with this. How a strong female can turn idiotic for a man is beyond me and Jane is seriously going that path. I'm getting nauseous just thinking about it again. And then, Leo bound her again. Or, better yet *cue sarcasm* he bound Beast. The one who was already trying to make Jane have sex with every single guy she saw. Wow. Could it be any worse?

I've loved Jane and this series from the first sentence of the first book. Now...I think I'm reconsidering. Forcing a bond between Jane and Leo is absolutely depressing for me and it was done, not once, but twice. And something tells me this time...she's going to have a lot more trouble getting out of it than before. If it's at all possible. I'm extremely disappointed. A real shame. Not sure if I'll keep reading.

Not sure about the direction of some plot parts but...the quality of the writing is still amazing and I simply couldn't put it down.

Review: Mercy Blade

Mercy Blade
Mercy Blade by Faith Hunter

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This one was a little more convoluted than the previous. I kinda foresaw most of it though so, instead of being pleasantly surprised, I was mostly grumbling the entire length of the novel thinking everything was so damn obvious and only Jane couldn't see it. So I got annoyed. Fast. And didn't enjoy it as much. But it was still good overall.

3.5 ★

Review: Blood Cross

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Absolutely perfect. I think if something further had happened to the kids I'd have thrown this book out of the window but, alas, it didn't. Everything ended up okay. Or as okay as it could possibly be and it was all I wanted. Great roller-coaster.

I was pleasantly surprised. Haven't read such a good UF in a while. Couldn't put it down and made me lose a lot of sleep. Currently look like a zombie but it was worth it.

Slightly above average PNR. The drama level however was so high it took a lot of the enjoyment out of it. The action was good though.
